The Illinois Emergency Management Agency, Illinois Department of Public Health, Cook County Emergency Management and Regional Security, MABAS-IL, Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System, Cook County Department of Environment and Sustainability, and Cook County Department of Public Health are collaborating to close the gap between the need and the availability of PPE by coordinating with Battelle Memorial Institute (“Battelle”), for use in decontaminating compatible N95 and N95-equivalent respirators (“compatible N95 respirators”), for reuse by first responders. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has authorized an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the emergency use of the Battelle CCDS Critical Care Decontamination System™.
The Battelle CCDS Critical Care Decontamination System™ service will be available to all first responders at no cost.
