DHSEM Hosts Preparedness Fair at Daley Plaza

News Date:
Monday, Sep 17, 2018 - 10:15

Cook County’s Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) is partnering with government agencies, nonprofits and private sector organizations to ensure residents have the information they need to stay safe in an emergency – whether human-caused or natural. As part of National Preparedness Month, DHSEM is hosting its fourth annual preparedness fair at Daley Plaza.

Residents will receive safety information from all participating agencies, take part in safety trainings and see the kinds of tools DHSEM and other agencies use to help residents during emergencies. DHSEM will display some of its rescue vehicles on the plaza. The department will also promote the “If You See Something, Say Something” anti-terrorism campaign.

The hashtag for the event is #CookCoPrep
